Am I Elegible?

🇺🇸 Who Can Become a Legionnaire?

To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

  • Branch of Service: Served in the

    • Army

    • Navy

    • Air Force

    • Marines

    • Coast Guard

    • Space Force

    • Merchant Marine (only eligible for service between Dec 7, 1941 – Dec 31, 1946)

  • Service Requirement:

    • Assigned to at least one day of federal active duty

    • Served any time after December 7, 1941 (eligibility dates remain open until the end of hostilities as determined by the U.S. Government)

  • Discharge Status:

    • Received an honorable discharge or discharge under honorable conditions

    • Or, are currently serving in one of the eligible branches

🪖 Additional Notes

  • You don’t need to have served overseas—just federal active duty counts.

  • National Guard and Reserve members may be eligible if they meet the federal active duty requirement.

  • Documentation like a DD-214 or other proof of service is typically required.
